your not asking for someone to give up their morel spot are you? cause that would be funny i know you wouldnt do that...jk. but seriously people are VERY protectful when they find a morel spot. look in areas where stuff has been burned recently. i hear they make good spots also lots of people say fuit orchards are good too but not every one has luck in the orchards. if you find anything please post pics. peace

I was chatting with a couple guys who've hunted them up there. They tell me that the upper peninsula is better than the rest of Michigan.

According to Alexander Smith and Nancy Weber you should find morels "in old orchards, beech-maple and oak forests, lightly burned areas such as old grassland, lawns (rarely), and swampy ground under elm where there is a cover of jewelweed."

Good luck!

Try talking to the county assessor's office. They should be able to tell you exactly where that is.

You're walking the fine line of breaking the rules by asking for specific locations. Not gonna tolerate that. Nothing worse than lazy people. Get out there and find some locations on your own, it's the only way.

Maybe someone would be kind enough to take you and show you a spot. Thats how I learned their habitat. LizardKing showed me his patch, and I got a really good idea of what kind of habitat they grow in. After that I found my own locations, and have not once been back to the spot that he showed me. There is an understood respect for peoples spots that should never be broken when it comes to mushroom hunting. If they are kind enough to show you their spot, you should never ever go back without their permission.

With that said, I don't like where this thread is going with all the specific location talk. I'm going to lock this post... Not trying to be a dick, but it's muh job
