Panaeolous?

Probably not

I found this guy in a cow pasture. It has a mushroomy smell (the same smell we are used to with those 'normal' mushrooms we buy at the supermarket except woodier) When moist, the brown tinge around the edge of the cap is more noticeable than when drier. It's the second time I find this mushroom while going there. I believe they are both the same and I am wondering to which genus it belongs to. (sorry for the large pictures but the upload pictures feature for the shroomery doesn't seem to function for me ATM)

Pluteus species. Growing from wood under the soil.

Panaeolus species have black spore prints. Had you taken one, you could have immediately ruled it out. Hope this helps.
