Panaeolous Cinctulus ID Help
    #22424592 - 10/23/15 08:19 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Habitat:
Lawn grass. Growing singularly but within a cluster of about 20ish within 4sq ft.

Gills:
Dark brown, chestnut blackening

Stem:
Some with whitish towards top, dark towards bottom. Biggest is barely over 3 inches ranging 1"-3".

Cap:
Big cap is almost 1.5" wide. The rest are .75" wide. Tan/brown/yellowish for cap color, darkening/blackening with age.

Spore print color:
Printing ATM will post within the hour if they drop nicely, hopefully not longer.

Bruising:
Not necessarily presenting a direct bruise color, though darkening on the borders of the cap.

Other information:
They had a definite "mushroom?" smell, maybe forest floor like smell.

Looking at the pictures now, they are very low light. I can snap better ones when I take the spore print shots, if that helps too (along with some gill shots). Thanks for looking!

The big guy with the furled up edges was a little odd to me, comparing in my mind to other cincts I've picked. He came from center of the patch. Top of caps are dry.

Bummer! Brown/black prints. I'm thinking they're Panaeolous foenisecii.

For your eyes:

Maybe next time ^^
