Because of their contentment they just reincarnated into smaller forms(animals now)(IMO), that way the lower species on the food chain could progress. But then again who knows human potential at such a young age(being closer to the creation point).

Interesting - id like to see a map that shows all the large predators that humans needed to compete with as they spread across the globe.

I know of the megafauna in Australia, but by this stage humans are pretty much fully evolved, and I am also not sure how tasty they would have seemed to the megafauna

First thing that comes to mind are lions. Lions once lived all over the place, in europe and the middle east, so they are definately one of the predators that humans needed to overcome. But lions, wolves, bears, are all quite easy to defeat if you have spears and numbers

Yeah, especially with only sticks and stones as weapons..

Seems as if a certain amount of suffering triggered the humans to evolve.
If there was no need to fire, would fire have been 'created'?
- Suffering - cold temperatures
If there was no need to travel, would the wheel have been invented?
- Suffering - using up food sources and having to travel to find more
If there was no need for defense, would weapons have been created?
- Suffering - fear of larger predators

So if there was no 'suffering' would our species have ever evolved into what we have now?
No suffering would be = contentment, and when one is content, they are less likely to change, IMO.

What I have an interest in, is what was the prominent diet of an earlier human, I would think plants would be the easier food source compared to animals that outclass humans in certain categories such as speed and agility.

wow man thats really profound...i have just recently been thinking about reincarnation and karma referring to the evolutionary process. So the fact that you bring up suffering, which I inherently associate with buddhism, in the context of evolution, it has the added coincidence factor

And since wondering around this topic, I don't believe we were originally meat eaters, even eggs or dairy.. If you get into mindset of an early human, when you look at a cow it does not look appetizing at all, especially without fire. We most likely picked this up from observing other animals while they fed, and when we did do this, we were most likely suffering from hunger.

So this of course raises a question in my mind - Are we really meant to take advantage of animals when there are so many other sources for food available, and pretty much an infinite source of food.
- to back up my infinite food source claim:
I noticed the other day while cutting up a cantaloupe, there were about 100 seeds in it.
now doing the math 1x cantaloupe has 100x potential cantaloupes, then each of those another 100x potential cantaloupes and that's just off of 1 cantaloupe.

yeah except you need soil to plant the seed in and then you need time to let it grow and then you need to transport those fruits to people living in cities.

But i also think theres a virtually unlimited supply of food.
the problem is how to get everyone to work together to make it and split it up fairly.
