I'm not an expert on rabbits either, in fact I know very little about them. I do however speak and read Hebrew--though not completely fluently--"chewing cud" is an English phrase, the actual Hebrew that is used refers to "bringing up" food It doesn't refer in any way whatsoever to what its eating, or how many times its eating something. It's just a mistake by the writer. It doesn't mean the writer wasn't inspired, and it's not a reflection on god, or the religion itself, it's just that the writer--with his primitive knowledge--was mistaken. The bibles full of stuff like that.

Some people even believe that the original Torah didn't include all of the seeming ethically meaningless mitvah. I'm not sure if it's true, but I've heard that the Essenes (whom Jesus was likely a part of) held such a belief. The idea being that it was introduced by lesser members of the priestly tribe in an effort to elevate their status.

Yea I remember a Creationist justifying it by saying God put the dinosaur bones in the ground to test our faith.

IMO Darwinism and Creationism are equally ludicrous. It's obvious evolution is the nature of spiritual and physical progress, yet there seems to be some driving force behind evolution - as if it is being guided.

So what part of that makes darwinism ridiculous?  Nothing you said is inconsistant with it at all.

I don't believe random genetic mutations account for evolution. To paraphrase Francis Crick; the first form of life arising in primordial goo is equivalent to a tornado assembling a 747 Jet as it passes through a junk yard.

Was the method for creating simple single celled organisms in a test tube ruled out?

Your two sentences seem like total nonsequitars.  What does the Crick paraphrase have to do with your thesis?

Again, I don't understand what the chances of life forming from primordial goo has to do with random mutations accounting for evolution.

Unless I'm reading it wrong he is stating that he doesn't believe the changes where random.

Yep. Primordial goo is the current leading hypothesis for Darwinism, aye?

abiogenesis has nothing to do with evolution.

So does this mean you actually have no issue with evolution?

I believe in evolution, but I don't believe that it is pushed forward by natural selection and random mutations.

In short, I believe there is an underlying unity to the universe in which our DNA is responsive to.

Such an underlying unity would not have to contradict natural selection.

Cosmonautt, I believe you would enjoy the very short book by Scott Adams (The Dilbert Guy), called God's Debris.  I actually just found a link to a PDF of it on Google.  http://nowscape.com/godsdebris.pdf

It's about exactly what you are talking about.  Some driving force towards increasingly complex structures in the universe.

Actually, another more scholarly book is Frank J. Tipler's The Omega Point.

Very nice short explaination. There is a lot of evidence to support your beliefe.
