Hey guys this is probably already been posted before but anyone have suggestions on plants that could have some kind of value we don't know about yet? i always thaught Coleous would one day have some kind of scientefic breakthrough haha..

But yeh share your ideas on what you guys think could be of use that is not at the moment (got the idea of posting this off of how mushrooms and LSD aren't exactly used to their full potential medically)

Passionflowers. Passaflora incarnata and similar species. I know of no one who uses them for much of anything:shrug:but I also know they have several alkaloids, including Harmine/harmaline(MAOI's)

Yeah i've got a few Passiflora seeds laying around, never got them to germinate =(

Never trusted MAOI's reading about the whole diet restrictions and all but one day ill try them out :laugh:

Those type of plant based Maois have been found to not require much of a diet at all. They happen to be reversible and selective, which means even if you drank pure tyramine, you'd end up with your body reversing the MAOI condition and you being fine.

Many reports of people drinking beer and sausage and stuff with their ayahuasca :eek:

Zanthoxylum rubescens has some MDMA-like phenethylamines that I thought sounded interesting, but they are only found in Africa and I can't find anywhere to buy seeds. It's a relative of prickly-ash (Z. americana) which is native to the northeastern US and eastern Canada. I wonder if a graft might be possible.

I recently came across a recipe for the activation of certain allylbenzene-type compounds with proper liver enzyme inhibition, it's called oilahuasca as many of the compounds can be found in essential oils.  The compounds include myristicin (nutmeg), safrole (sassafrass), methyl chavicol (basil/taragon), and elimicin (elemi/nutmeg), and when their primary metabolic pathway is blocked they seem to be mildly psychedelic.  For example if we wanted to activate elemicin we should take a CYP3A4 and CYP1A2 inhibitor (it's supposed these are the primary metabolic pathways), which grapefruit juice is.

It's been hypothesized the allyl group is aminated into a psychedelic phenethylamine, so a MAOI might boost the effects further.

Duboisia hopwoodii is interesting.

Also, Chaenomeles species allegedly contain some MAOI's
