I think a co-worker is trying to sting me
    #14916728 -

So a few months ago, a fellow co-worker (let's call him co-worker A) was at a party that got busted. He said he was facing MIP, Possession of MJ < 1oz. Well we kept asking him for updates, and he would say stuff like "They havn't gotten my police report, I havn't gotten a court date," etc. Me and one of my managers(he deals on the side.. the one who i'm suspicious of.. let's call him co-worker B) found this really unusual.

Well a month or so after co-worker A's bust, he went to co-worker B's house to buy a bag. He did the grab and go. Turned out 'A' started snitching. Ten minutes later, 3 police show up at his house and arrest him for Possession of Marijuana with Intent To Deliver (he had 3oz) and Possession of a Controlled Susbtance (6 oxycontins).

A couple weeks later, co-worker B got out of jail, and he informs me of what happened. A few days later I asked him more about it.. the court date and all that. He says "I don't have my court-date yet, they havn't filed my police report yet.,etc" He's just acting funny now. He's never had any interest in hallucinogens, let alone ask me for any substances, and all the sudden he's asking me for 1oz/fungus. But that's not the only thing. I told him I might be able to get it, and he said out of nowhere "I'd have to come with you just to make sure it's cool, ya know?" (even though I know that he knows nothing about fungus) This is totally out of his character. Also, I'd always be the one to let him know if I needed a bag, and lately he's been asking "You need to re-up?, you good on the herbs?, are you looking for anything?" Again, totally out of character.  He would always, and I'll emphasize "ALWAYS" drop stuff of at work for me, never had a problem with it. Now the last time I asked him for a bag, he's telling me I'd have to meet him somewhere. When I informed him we have the same shift the following day, he said "It just works out better this way man."

It's just really weird. You know when you can feel a different energy from somebody? I do tend to overanalyze things but, I don't know.... can I get some opinions from you guys?

idk I'd be just as sketch as you, really does kinda sound suspicious. I probably wouldn't deal with guy until I heard something about his court date or something like that.

Well from what i could gather from that story, i would say with 100% certainty he's trying to get you busted.

Definitely be careful around him from now on and i would for sure stop dealing in drugs with this guy in any way.

Don't make it too obvious though that you're avoiding him because of a possible sting.

It's alright. With the initial sting, it generally disembowels the attacker, leaving them incapacitated for good.

When he was asking about you upping or needing nugs was he implying he wanted to sell you some? Seems kinda improbably if he is selling it to you, ya know? At the same time though, there are cops here who let tweekers run around and sell their dope as long as they're dropping names of the other chains.

Above everything, follow your instincts man. It is only healthier and more wise. If it seems semi clear to you, than might as well play it safe.

I have not boughten anything from him since he's been back to jail. It did seem like he wanted to sale to me but I'm just really nervous messing around with it.

The fact that you were worried enough to post about this asking for advice should be enough of a sign that you need to end any dealings with him involving/relating to/mentioning things not allowed for by law. You lose more if you get locked up than you would if you erroneously ended friendship with him (or at least removed substances from the equation).

I knew someone who got arrested for selling dro. When my friend hit him up for some after the arrest, he got the response, "Nah man, they got me under surveillance". It's not impossible. Stranger things have happened...while they usually aim for the growers and high-quantity distributors, they're not at all above wasting time on small-scale users and sellers, either.

Come up with a string of convenient excuses not to involve this dude in your dealings anymore. Paranoia is not always unwarranted.
