( I realize that it was a joke, but no flaming means exactly that)

Hmmmm Canada absorbed by the US huh? What would happen?

Our dollar would go up 40%.
Our gas/oil prices would drop 40%.
Our electric bills would drop 40% cause thats how much the US now pays Canada for it.
Our food cost would drop for the same reason.
Not to mention we could enjoy 30% income tax rather than the 50% we pay now!
And we wouldn't have to worry about customs and immigration.
Damn ... I could move back to Florida again.

OK I'm sold, the U.S. can absorb our ass...
But, you can keep your federal government interfearance in State Laws, the DEA bullshit tatics, and your shitty healthcare system that lets people die because of lack of money.
The hardest part for us will be convincing our students that good communication skills and grammer are not part of a decent education.
