US takeover of Canadian energy 'almost complete'
    #1484923 -

finishing off the deregulation job - as the Bush administration wants -- may be politically unpopular here "as consumers face higher commodity prices and perhaps sacrifice some direct sharing of the lower costs that are attributable to Canada's natural endowments."

Canada will be part of the states sooner or later so it doesn't make much difference.

Besides.... if the information in that article is accurate it sounds like you should be pissed at the leaders up north for getting you guys into those agreements in the first place.

Yet what a surprise to see it's merely another anti-Bush rant.

You're right, but in reality Canada has little choice but to bend to the whims of the U.S...(bend..as in over)

I'm curious to know how you came to that conclusion.

luvdemshrooms: "Canada will be part of the states sooner or later so it doesn't make much difference"

you dont know much about canada do you? if there is one nationality in the world that can rival america in its patriotism, it is canada. And that patriotism is synonymous with a hatred of america.

not a real...evil hatred of course. But Canada will not be absorbed as easily as you think. and everyday that we maintain our sovereignty, we become stronger and more of a distinct culture.

And just wait till the pressure is on to see how patriotic we can be

No, I don't think Canada will be "absorbed" by the US.

If you want my opinion, and that's all this is, the US will fall long before it can think of "absorbing" Canada. It will fall on it's own, too. Doesn't need any help.

Well you must have a different idea of what poignant means because that certainly wasn't one.

Hey Rono in case you didnt know he was reciting a well known error in a game from the mid 80's (I believe)  "All your bases are belong to us" but then again you probably knew that with all that vast knowlage of yours. Unless you were just trying to be a smartass and ended up looking like a dumbass.
