Enlighten me so I may see this light and pick up my roots and go to Cali. Its got to be something besides ' pot is decrim and you can get mmj cards. ' Cause I've been doing drugs for a while and they aren't really a reason for me to move cross country. Maybe go a couple of miles to the dope man's place but thats it.

:shrug: I'd rather be somewhere that I didn't have to drive 10 miles just to get a pack of cigs or anything else for that matter... It's ridiculous. I know it's different in Georgia but TN is literally the middle of nowhere.

I could care less about california.  It only looks cool if you've got TONS of cash. 

And I'm aware that there are shitheads everywhere, even on the shroomery.  I just think I could find more intelligent, like-minded individuals in someplace other than one of the fattest, dumbest states in the country.  And that's not opinion, it's fact, backed up by research that I linked to in the original post.

Dig this. Georgia is well-known for being intolerant of gays and brown people.  But Atlanta has an extremely high population of blacks and gays.  In fact, The Advocate(The longest running gay paper in the states) lists Atlanta as the gayest city in America.  http://www.advocate.com/Print_Issue/Travel/Gayest_Cities_in_America/

So there's naturally going to be a lot more friction here than other places, which makes things shitty.

the south sucks in general, i lived there for awhile, your best bet is to move somewhere out on the west coast, but save up money first.
i would say atleast 5 to 10k in your bank account before moving out here.
a cheap one bedroom apartment in the sf bay area runs from 1000 to 1500+ a month (cheaper in oakland).
  while LA is a bit cheaper around 750 to 1200 a month. also a car is a necessity unless you live in SF or within walking distance from bart.

It has a huge effect when they make and enforce the local laws and run the local businesses.  Don't get me wrong, there are some very nice, genuinely good people down here.  But after 25 years of observation, it is my opinion that there are not enough good people here to outweigh the growing mass of dummies .

I graduate college this December.  I think I'm going to save up some money and take an extended road trip next summer to find my new stomping grounds.  I'm hoping some other Shroomery vets will allow me to string my hammock up in their yards for a night or two during my search.

I'm slowing forming my escape plan.
