The above link is to an article about the recent cheating scandal in which 80 percent of Atlanta schools were caught cheating on standardized tests.  Teachers, administrators, and principals have all been implicated in the scandal.  Our education system has been consistently ranked in the bottom five for years.  This pretty much certifies us as the dumbest state.

This article references a new study that puts Georgia among the fattest states in the country, with almost 30% of the population falling into the obese category. We are second only to Mississippi.

So I live in a state with a bunch of fat dummies.  Not to mention all the redneck racists and homophobes, along with heavy religious oppression.

I've got to get the hell out of here.  I'm thinking Colorado or Arizona.  Anyone got any other suggestions?

I understand that.  I just don't want to live with the bottom of the barrel anymore.  And it can only get worse with hundreds of thousands of uneducated children turning 18 and being released to the streets for the next five or six years.

I'm from TN man, not far from Georgia so I feel your pain... I plan on moving to California when I get the cash. I'd highly recommend Cali.

Yeah, schools in Georgia are pretty bad. I went to elementry and middle school in GA, then moved up to Minnesota the summer between 8th and 9th grade.

The differences in the public schools were astounding.

In our science classes we actually got to use real science equipment in MN, in GA they would just pop a video in and not give a fuck.

For a group of people claiming to be so tolerant and enlightened this post sure is stupid.How does it hurt you if we Southerners like to deep fry most everything we eat and wash it down with a beer and gain a couple pounds haha.And your intolerance to groups that are intolerant for others makes you just as bad as them. Open your eyes and see that california is not the answer and that seems to be the only answer that half of the people on this forum have.Foolishness. Enjoy your surroundings and make them work. If I didn't make it clear , in the past 3 years of my life I've been alot of places outside of GA seeking something else that wasn't even able to be found from the beginning. The happiness is inside you , fuck the people around you.

PLUS Calis gun laws are shit. Restricted to a 10 rd mag that needs a tool to be removed and attached so you can't quick reload the cops. What bullfuckery. And I dont need a MMJ card. I got a buddy with one and get a nice little package monthly. I smoke what they smoke. I dont have to deal with all that hippie shit. And my guns can have as many bullets as I'd like. Plus , I wasn't a fan of Terminator so all respect for the state was lost when a celebrity became the gov. The last lines a joke , my Cali brothers. You're nice for a visit but I will be goddamned if I'm moving there.

You know... I moved here about ten years ago from Connecticut where I grew up.

This place still makes me sick.

The only thing I like about GA is that we have:

ATL for nights out
The Appalachian Trail in the north
Tybee Island/ Savannah/ The beach
The Hooch. (Chattahoochee river for you guys out of state.)

The geography is amazing. The people suck a fat one.
