Lancing poppies multiple times

Can I lance poppies multiple times?If so, is there a special technique?Currently, I am trying to help provide a friend a magical experience and my yield on the poppies I have left is abysmal. I was getting 150mg a pod, now it looks like around 10-20mg max(with 3 large pods and 2 small left). Any help would be appreciated.

Pretty sure most people lance it twice. Lance it one day, let dry til next day, collect goop from the pod. Repeat. Done.

Do you lance it all over, or single slits?

I tended to lance it multiple times, but I only grew them once and didn't really know much of what I was doing. I got a decent amount though.

What kind of yields were you all getting? Like I said, I was getting 150mg a pod(with only 30 total pods), yields are super low now. I have got 5 pods left and am hoping to be able to toss a friend at least 100mg so that he can get an idea of what real opium is like. Do you guys think this is feasible? Thanks again for all your help.

I honestly don't know the weight I was getting from each pod. I'm never that meticulous w anything. Far too many hobbies to spend that much time on any one thing. :wink:

Plus I was growing such a small plot of them, all I really wanted was to be able to try it a few times, try some tea, that's it. Just had to check them off the grow list.  :bigjoint:

Feel free to correct me if im wrong but i've read that the amount that oozes out decreases with each lancing, which makes sense if you think about it
