ok sorry for being a pest... just wanted to make sure since i dont want to be let down when it comes to the ritual i will be partaking in next month.

i plan to go on a mescal journey using about 30+ inches cut from the 45 inch san pedro... i will then plant the 3 cuttings that are left in some pots and let them grow for as long as possible.

i was wondering if i should cut the bottom off this cacti since it is a little damaged

will this affect the growth? would it be better to make a clean cut? or will that not affect anything?

The brown damage stuff looks fine, but that cut is pretty jagged. I would try to make a much cleaner cut with a sharp knife, let it callous well (2 weeks+), and then plant it.

Sand and perlite, easy drain soil. Wait a few weeks for the end to callous before planting, bigger pot the better and UseTheF'kin search engine.

well in the end i bougfht 3 of the cactis! hehe two smaller ones around 18-20 inches long) and e nice big one (45 inches long)

how do i plant them ? at the moment ive got them on a towel on the floor so that the wound at the bottom can dry and heal up a bit...
how long should i wait till i put them in soil?

how big should the pots be?

how deep should i burry them?

what mixture of soil should i use?
