I live near a major college town (at least 4) and it's a well known fact that almost all of the panhandlers and beggars are college students.  Some of them have even done it as a thesis project.  So unless they look too old for your average college kid, no one gives them money

I know, I suck that I have money.  I'll give a homeless guy 3-5 bucks every now and then if his story was good.

I saw a junkie with a, "need money for dope", sign chilling the other day.

Everytime a cop went by he'd lower his sign.

Probably looking for a suburbanite with no connects to come ask him for a hookup for a few bags.

Best think ever was having a homeless dude ask me for change while I was walking from a buddies house with a leftover beer in my pocket.

Dude was stoked.
