Bucket Mono With 1qt of Spawn?

I currently have half a brick of coir with just under 1 qt of verm soaking in 2qts of boiling hot water in a bucket with the lid on pasteurizing. I was about to spawn 1qt of rye spawn to 3 or 4 qts of substrate in a tray at either 1:3 or 1:4 ratio and fruit in a SGFC.

...But i was thinking about what if i just drilled big holes in the sides of the bucket and put micropore tape over, and just spawn my qt of spawn straight to the bucket with the half brick of pasteurized coir to do a bucket mono.

Would i need more than just 1qt of spawn for a half brick of coir pasteurized in a bucket?

Yea you might. Some Teks I have read use 5 quarts of spawn for 1 brick coir, 2 quarts verm, and 4 quarts of water. That would equate to 2.5 quarts of spawn for what your using. If anything you probably could take out some coir/verm mix from your bucket and get the right ratio based on the 5 quart spawn, 1 brick coir, 2 quart verm, and 4 quart water ratio, for your 1 quart of spawn.

This is for 1.25 quarts of spawn, which is 1/4 of 5 quarts: If your full brick of coir weighed around 650 grams and you used half, then that is 325 grams. Now, 325 grams divided by two = 162.5 grams. From here, 162.5 grams converts to 0.36 lbs(rounded that is) 1 quart of water weighs 2.08 lbs according to wikianswers. In total combining the coir and water is 2.44 lbs. The only thing missing from this equation is the verm. How much does half a quart of verm weigh, in pounds. Then add that weight to the 2.44 lbs of the coir and water. Lastly, take out how ever many lbs total from your current substance in the bucket.

Basically, a half brick of coir is 4 qrts, + 1 qrt verm, so ur ratio is 1:5 thats pretty low and will take longer to colonize, if it doesn't run out of newts.

Imagine filling up 6 qrt jars with water when buying a tub, will it fit.
Haven't done a shoe box yet, but that sounds like the size you need.
