Mr.Sleep has a question about shroom kits.
    #1431618 -

I've ordered a few kits online to save the work and sketchy look of having to sterilize and inoculate jars. Seeing as how I live with my parents still. I've been reading a lot about mushroom growing techniques for a few years now and haven't really tried growing mushrooms at all until now. I was wondering, how would I go about spawning more shrooms in the same kit? Would I have to sterilize more cakes anyway and put them near the shrooms and wait for the original shrooms to disperse spores? Or what? Lemme know what you think/know.

Could you clarify the variety of kits you have ordered?

I would just print my shrooms and inncoulate the new cakes from my collected spore prints. When the caps open you wiggle outt the stem and set cap on a peice of paper with a cup over it to keep moisture and in 12 hours you've got thousands and thousands of spores all in one place on the paper.

Well in response to LightBright, I've ordered three different kits. All ranging in price from about $30-$70, I can't exactly clarify beyond that because they don't exactly have a brand-name or anything. They are all grain-substrate based as far as I am aware.
And in repsone to curenado, how exactly do you go about innoculating WITH spore prints? I can understand the whole using a needle to innoculate with fluid and the spores, but dry spores suspended in nothing? How would I do it? I'm sure that last question was stupid because in about 20 minutes I'll find out how looking around the site. But humor me and respond to that last question anyway.
I'm really appreciating the responses I've got so far. Thanks.

Well I know that-but why then are spore prints offered at all? Why not just the syringe? I'm almost certain theres another use of using spore prints, like for agar culturing, I know that much. Are there any others?

You can make many spore syringes with a print.

When you do agar culturing does the agar act as the cake and it gets its nutrients from the agar? Or do you have to move the cultured spores to a cake?
