Hey shroomers,
Yeah i was at a new school today and i found a Psilocybe Cubensis mushroom growing in their newly laid (sod) yard.
Cows had most definately onced grazed the area before the whole area was built over with office buildings and stuff, but it was sure strange to be finding a Cubensis in a lawn like that.
Anyways, the Cubies seem to up in abundance now in the cow pastures here.
Keep shroomin, GG

Actually the spores come in the fertilizers GGreatOne234. Thats why we have lawns covered with them,. The fertilizers used in the sod produce those massive collections of both P. stuntzii and P. fiemtaria's as well as the ocassional P. baeocystis.
Last fall I posted the church lawn in Switzerland which showed hundreds of Copelandia bispora's popping up throoughout the garden.
Unfortunately they did not return the following year.
Copelandia bispora is a psilocybian species orginaly only known of from the Republic of Central Africa and later by me in Hawaii. Switzerland was a first for this teropical species. I will repost the images in this post if the site gets itself back together real soon.
Andyway thats how they appear in the lawns. mj

Hah, well im not exactly attending school there but yes it was a actual Psilocybe Cubensis mushroom growing in the lawn.
The land that the school was built on was once positively a cow pasture, so, it had nothing to do with any chemical fertilizers as mj had noted in comparison to Psilocybe stuntzii mushrooms.
The Shroom Wizard told me once that one of the fields he frequents for harvesting Psilocybe Cubensis, had never actually even had any cows grazing on the property for 10 years and the land was still producing a good amount of Cubes.

That would bne liquid fertilizers made from manuree. I have seen lawns with new sod and no shrooms. One day A year after this particular lawn was planted, I saw two people from a landscapping company doing th lawns. After they mowed the lawn I watched them carry a small cannister on their back with a rubber hose and an tube attacched at the end of the hose and they sprayed the lawn. iasked then what they were spraying and they said liquid fertilizers.
Anyway abot 7 weeks later, there were rugs of P.stuntzii. P/. fimetaria and scattered baeocystis all over hte lawn. That ws the Seattle Communitiy college lawn on Capital Hillin Settle, five minutes from down town.
Anyay a few weeks later I decided to visit the north Community college near North Gate Shopping Mall. Amazing but since the schools all used the same landscappers, I assumed there would be shrooms and there were.
So then I went to Shorline community college and the shrooms, Only blue ringers (P. stuntzii) had popped up.
The following year, my wife was attending classes at the South Community College in West Seattle.
She came home after her first day with news that the shrooms were all over the campus.
Of course they were. three years before they were on every lawn at the Universtiy of Washington and atPpacific University and at Serattle University near First Hill near downtown Seattle. Thats the same year that I took Paul Stamets and showed himt he massive P. cyanescens and P. stuntzii plot that came up on the new King County jail house.
Anyway. Sod also brings up shrooms here and it could be planted today and a week later could have shrooms growing because the mycelium was growing before they planted the sod.
