Server change

Sometime in the next day or two the bulletin board will be closed down and the site will be moved to a temporary server. The site will be hosted on this temporary server until we are finished doing upgrades to the current server. The site will be slower than normal during this time. When everything is done the site will be faster than ever so just hang in there. We are hoping to have everything back to normal around the 1st of the month.

Let me play Larry King here, and toss you a couple of "softball" questions... :wink:

Is this just a slow down for a few days, or will the site be off-line for a short time?

And if so, how long?

When did you fist meet Anna Nicole Smith?

The board will be disabled while the databases are copied to the new server, and DNS changes propagate.

I first met Anna Nicole at Hooters a few years ago  :tongue:

oh well....as long as when the site returns to this server it will be better....are there going to be design changes as well or no?

And more importantly....when did you sleep with Anna Nicole Smith? Hopefully years and years ago....if recently...I know some good shrinks

Email notification is still there, it just changed with the last upgrade. Yes the search will be back.

We are now currently on the temporary server. Shroomery.com has been changed to point here and Shroomery.org will follow sometime in the next 24 hours.

As Ripple said, the speed isnt all that bad...

I do miss the jpegs however... (*sigh*)- me miss the pics. :frown:

No, the domain shroomery.org doesn?t point to this server yet.
And the pictures have shroomery.org in the filename...

Can't wait for this all to be over and done with, the new server will be nice. But right now it takes like a 60 seconds from the time I press "continue" to the time I return to the thread. Oh well, I know good things are coming.
