I'm having a great day over here.

I just got a laptop with a dual core 1.7GHz processor and 2GB of RAM.
I did some computer work for this guy and he gave me this broken laptop and his old desktop. The screen wasn't working so I swapped it out with the screen from a broken Compaq I have laying around, and it actually worked!

The desktop has a P4 2.8GHz processor. I used some parts I had laying around and put together a pretty good system. 1.5GB of ram and a 512MB HD video card. 80GB hard drive. I think I might sell this desktop though. Any idea how much I could get for this desktop?

I'm so fucking stoked! :zomgwtf:

I work in a security company and make LOTS of money from security system parts i exchange for new ones and repair the old :wink:

Takes a lot of skill, patience and time... but still :smile:

My original education is computer oriented too, it is pretty easy to assemble a good computer from "spare" parts too :smile:

I actually frakensteined together a laptop recently myself. Had a few fucked up ones and ended up with one fully working one:

120gig HDD
512MB Video Card
2gig's Ram
1.6GHz Processor (which sucks, gotta update this).
DVD Burner (originally just had a cd burner with dvd player)
Bluetooth & Wifi.

I would for sure be interested in that desktop if the price were right (can never have to many extras around). Though currently working on putting together a fully custom desktop, seems like it may take a little while to fully assemble it all.

I dunno, maybe $ 100 for the desktop? I wouldn't pay more myself for that config, at least not if it doesn't come with a monitor.

Maybe $150-$200. The processor and HDD together are easily over $100.

It will come with a monitor. I have a CRT flat screen to sell with it.
The video card I was trying was shot. So it just has the onboard video which uses up to 256MB of the system memory. :shrug:

*edit* oh yeah, it has a ASUS motherboard and Antec case and 400Watt Antec Power supply. So it seems to have pretty reputable parts in it.

I'm using the desktop now, just got it all set up with Windows XP. The computer decided that we weren't going to install Windows7. It runs great, doesn't seem to have any lag to it so far.

And that laptop is fast as hell, I'm still setting up XP on it, it doesn't want windows7 either. It didn't come with a hard drive though so I'm using the one off my old laptop.

Not sure if I wanna sell this laptop yet, but the desktop is defiantly going. I'm thinking $200 is a fair price. I'm going to put some software on it.

Can't think of any other good software to put on it that would make in enticing to potential buyers. Any suggestions?

Lol? 80GB HDD has zero value. Processor is worth ~$10. For $100 you can get an AMD X2 Phenom 3.0GHz and a 500GB HDD...
