Toyota Recall for "sticking gas pedals" was BS

Okay you guys remember all the fuss over the toyotas being recalled because of the gas pedals that were allegedly sticking and causing uncontrollable acceleration? In one case a police officer who was driving one experienced this problem and crashed killing him and his wife & kid. They determined a floor mat, taken from a mazda had been placed into the car he was driving, and the pedal got stuck.

"The verdict is in. There is no electronic-based cause for unintended high-speed acceleration in Toyotas. Period,"

It's ridiculous how big of a deal this was made out to be, when in reality it was the U.S government trying to slander Toyota to promote it's own self interest in GM and Chrysler. Same thing happened to Audi in the 60's. It's ridiculous! Toyota has had to pay millions in fees and recalls, all for a problem that doesn't even exist! The U.S govt is shady

I thought it was from the pedal sticking on a piece of plastic on the floor.
