360 fruiting in a martha several questions
    #13881333 -

Ok so originally was going to do mono tubs just didnt like how it was looking so after my WBS spawn colonized my Damion 50/50 coir tek in the tubs i dumped out these huge cakes/blocks and put them into my martha to have my first attempt at 360 growing. Looks pretty good so far, pins on all side but the bottom. I have a Vick's v400 coolmist running 24/7 on the bottom shelf. The cheap little thermostat/hygrometer reads its 72.6 degrees and 99% RH. I have still been misting 2 times a day cause i dont believe its really 99% as there were very few water droplets on the sides of martha. On the martha i cut out sections of the plastic sheeting and replaced it with tyvek to help with FAE and have been keeping it fully zipped up. As you can see i have a decent pin set.

So now you know the story, now the questions.
1. Do you guys think this is getting both high enough humidity and enough FAE??

2. Why do these 3 little guys pictured already have a broken veil they maybe only be an inch. Is there an environmental problem causing this?

Also this one looks a little deformed.

You're all good man. I transferred my mono to the martha after the first flush was done. My substrate broke apart when lifting out but its still good. My second flush started with a few here and there on the top. I got about an oz dry off the top now the bottom is pinning like crazy but it took 3 weeks after the transfer for this to happen.
Im getting bigger ones off the top and small ones on the bottom. You just need a little time and it'll blow up outta no where.

So how thick is your substrate?? Also what do you think could be causing the early veil break?? I hope they dont all break at that size or my yeild is going to SUCK. Any recommendations

Well there's alot of factors. Sounds like genetics though. Are you using a multispore?

What "strain" are you using?  If it's PE by chance that may explain the early veil breaking.

99% RH seems high for a coir sub, but i'm used to tubs, and haven't tried that in a GH.  I know myc wants high humidity to pin and fruit, and with your sub out-of-the-box i guess it makes sense.  Hell, ya got pins, dont ya   And by the size of those substrates you are probably going to get a nice harvest I hope!

FWIW humidity cannot be measured by droplets.  Droplets are caused by either condensation due to temperature differential or by collection of mist.  Depending on temps, condensation will confirm that there is humidity, but it is not an indicator of how much humidity is in the air.  If droplets form on the inside walls, it really only indicates  that its warmer inside than outside the GH, or that your coolmist is blowing against the surface collecting water.

Nice project, Those blocks will probably be swarming with fruits soon.

It was done from MS syringe on the top cake and G2G on the cake on the second level. Brazilian strain

Alright so from what i gather its either and FAE issue or humidity issue that is causing my premature veil breaks. So i went to Salvation army and picked up another coolmist for 3bucks. Now im running two coolmist inside the 4 teir martha and made a few slits in the plastic all over. Hoping this help let me now what you guys think. thanks

Just a suggestion but may be worth a try.

Can you tell by feel if your subs are getting lighter or heavier over time?
They may be taking on moisture or waterlogging, though I'd think you might see it on the surface, my subs tend to lose a lot of weight over the first flush.

I usually only get shorties after a dunk, but, in a GH its a whole different environment i'm just not experienced enough to do more than guess.

Maybe your adjustments will work it out.

I think your on to something i think they may be water logged(they feel very heavy). After using the search bar as few usually do haha i came up with there being to much moisture. The reason i think this is , is because there is myc growing up my stems. So for now i put the bottom coolmist on 24/7 and the top cool mist which seems to put out alot more moisture on a 30 min on every 5 hours cycle. I also put a small 4inch fan in the martha top shelf facing downwards at an angle ill leave it on 24/7 on lowest setting and only zipped the front close a 1/4 of the way. Im gonna give this a go and see what it looks like in a few hours. Thanks for all the help. I find it strange i have never had this problem before but im now growing at a different location so it looks like its just gonna take some time to dial it in in a new place.
