Well, I would like to make it clear that I too, do support our troops... I wish they were doing it for a better cause.

And namaste, very true... our freedom should be worked on here in our own borders... We are loosing freedom from going into Iraq...it will only cause more terrorism in the future.. :frown:

Is it me or is it evil puppet night?

I myself was foolish enough to join the Marines at one point so I feel like I can say that each and every one of those people that signed up gambled. They gambled with thier lives to hope to gain benifits that would help them in thier lives against the odds that they would see action. Don't delude yourself in thinking they signed up out of some spiritual realization that they were doing mankind a favor. Most of them came from less than affluent families and they just wanted to get into college and make things different economically. I would say this is true for about 90% of enlistees.

I don't fear terrorists one bit and it has nothing to do with the military. I am fully prepared to take care of anyone or anything myself. I have worked hard to make sure I am far away from anything that anybody would want to mess with. There are people out there that wish to live lifestyles that invite terrorist plots, IF THERE ARE ANY, then they make that choice.

I have family in the military now and I think they are dip shits as they joined the military after he became a lawyer to help pay his school bill. It's all about greed baby.....

I would like to sell a aircraft carrier off and make sure my kids had some decent education rather than the sheeple training they are getting now......

I'm not very Patriotic, but I feel that this war must be carried out now (long before I was against it). We would be spending too much money to just have our troops hang out on the boarder for one thing, secondly, I think Bush is right in that if we kill Saddam now, we would be avoiding a worse danger later on.

I side now with Bush now partially because after playing Master of Orion 2 for hours on end for the past few weeks, I can see how you have to act on growing threats like Saddam.  :tongue:

I refuse to support "our" troops. They're not my troops. I didn't want this. If anything, I feel bad for them. Many will die for a cause.......uh........why are we attacking again?

The foot-soldiers are merely pawns in an elaborate game of chess. Bush holds the strings and controls their movements.

This reminds me of an excellent Bill Hicks quotation: "Anyone DUMB enough to join the millitary, should be allowed in. I don't care how many push-ups you can do, get in that fox-hole and we'll tell you when we need you to KILL someone".

My father is in the military. He's being shipped out on Thursday, and he didn't do it for the money, or school. He joined when he was 35yrs old. He did it to help protect our country. He didn't join the Navy to be greedy. I wish I was half the human being he is.

I support our troops. I support my father's decision to join the Navy. I don't support the cause of this war. There is a difference between supporting our troops and supporting Bush's decision for war. Some people just don't know the difference.

What is this "puppet" shit? I am not a puppet!! My boyfriend is on this site, and got me interested in mycology; therefore, I joined the shroomery to better my knowlege of the subject. I have quite a busy schedule, so I don't get to post as much as you do. With my father's recent deployment, I wanted to speak my mind on this subject. I know that the shroomery is a good place to do so. So, know offense, fuck this puppet shit. Don't hate on a cool girlfriend wanting to know more about something her boyfriend is interested in.

Soliders kill. This is true. Soliders also die. They give their lives for the rest of us. Nobody likes to admit it but we are able to live the comfortable lifestyle we are used to because these soliders died for us. Maybe we don't need all the nice things that we have here in the United States. We take a lot of things for granted here.
