Ableton question............
    #13810779 -

Now, I know you can stretch out and pitch bend a single sample just by using the warp tool. but what technique do you use to stretch, or tempo adjust the master output while holding solid time?

Like the standard darkpsy sound stretching.

I Can pan left and right out and in :P.  I Want to know how to do the stretches and keep on time.  If I bounced down the master track to wave and reimported into an audio track and then proceeded to warp a small section it would thus increase or decrease the overall length of the track.

I want to do that warping without losing base tempo.

Why do you need to do this in master? Open w.e midi clip you wanna edit and select the notes you wanna do this to, then right click and hit Stretch Notes. I think that should do it. I've havent really messed with this much so i duno. I think if you wanted a gradual stretch you could gradually stretch parts of the clip in an increasing or decreasing series. There really just needs to be an effect or filter to take care of this tho.

I am wanting to warp entire track though, not just one clip. it is easy to do it to 1 clip and keep base tempo. Also, I work with a mixed medium of MIDI and audio, about a 1:1 ratio.

I want everything to melt into oblivion :P

well, I could automate tempo over time with automation.  I could just draw a curve from say 150 down to 100 but, would that not disturb overall timing?  I mean, that would get the desired effect, but would it not take it out of 4/4 timing?

What does the timing matter if you slow the entire track? It'll relatively always be in 4/4 timing.

ableton is tricky.  i only really use it for recording and simple drum beats but I should get into more sampling/EDM type stuff.
