Wow, just as a coach gets the players he needs to run his system you can him, thereby ensuring that someone else is going to come in and lose for three years while they wait for the type of players that they need to run their system comes through the pipes.

Well, this is getting interesting.

Despite media reports earlier Tuesday that Michigan fired Rich Rodriguez, athletic director Dave Brandon says no decision has been made regarding the coach. Rodriguez and Brandon met for four hours Tuesday and will meet again Wednesday to discuss the coach's future.

That's pretty unusual. Typically, if a coach is getting fired the meeting lasts about five minutes.

It was official then and now for sure. michigan just wanted to be the ones to announce it. I've been a michigan fan for life. And supported him full on until mid-season. And just like redstorm said. He didn't seem to give a shit about defense and special teams. When you are a major program and you go 4-14 on field goals and can't get a touchback to save your life, something is wrong. These are BASIC parts of the game that you should not have to worry about.

I wish him and his family the best and I'm SURE we will find a new job and be successful there. It just wasn't going to work out in Ann Arbor.

Alright I'm not trying to guarantee anything or some shit like that, but nothing would make me happier than an SEC coach going to Michigan and continuing the recent trend of OSU vs. Michigan games.

I do like Les Miles though.

I dont know how I feel about Les Miles. He can win, thats for sure but I have seen him make tons of head coaching errors, mainly in clock management.

Les Miles system would be a lot more siimilar than harbaugh. even thou he's already taken.

I havent really heard any names being flouted around the job

Michigan is retarded.

Rich Rodriguez is a good coach.

He was a good coach before he got to Michigan, and he is still a good coach.

Whomever they hire will probably be a good coach, but Michigan will freak out when he doesn't win his first two years because he has players who don't match his system, they will fire him, and then start over.  Probably with another good coach.

I'm not sure why all of you people think Harbaugh would've been the one sure to bring success to Michigan.

Was he an awesome coach before he had the best QB in College Football?  Do you think Michigan's team of convicts and half-wits could've understood the offense he was running with his group of Stanford geniuses?

The whole constantly moving coaching carousel is just inane and stupid.  Institutions need to start realizing that success is not immediate, that everyone will have down years, and that the flavor of the month is just that, temporary.

Michigan hires former Ball State then San Diego State head coach Brady Hoke

I dont get it. We fire Rich Rod for Brady Hoke. I dont know about other fans but I dont feel any better about Hoke being there than Rodriguez. I was hoping we would have been able to land someone with more experience and a more impressive resume. Instead we got a .500 coach who hasnt really accomplished much

I really wanted Jim Harbaugh

Chris Petersen (61-5) from Boise State would have been nice. I was even kind of hoping we'd interview Mike Leach (84-43) in 9 years at Texas Tech

Les Miles didnt really float my boat either but he would have been better than Hoke, imo. We'll see, I got not choice at this point but to give the guy a chance.

I dont know, I am kind of surprised he got an NFL gig as Head Coach. Then again, the 9er's are pretty desperate

I would be mad about it if I thought Rich Rod would ever give us a chance at winning a NT. He just doesnt give a shit about defense, this isnt the shitty Big East where you can play shit defense and still win games

The more I read about Brady Hoke, the more I welcome the change. All these loses to Ohio State have become ridiculous. 7 in a row?
