not true. Hitler screamed at his audience, many killers are charming. I'm sure that this guy was just an attention seeking loser. He kills for attention because everyone in his life hates him and he wants recognition that he doesn't deserve.

I, not even growing up in the worst place, have witnessed people that I could EASILY see going nuts and doing shit like this. The fact they are just not being watched or have done something bad enough to stop them from easily getting a gun with a permit (let alone doing a black market deal) should make it easy to see that people snap.

People have snapped throughout time, now they just have bigger firepower and far more ease of pulling something off, since they don't care what happens to them.

It wouldn't be hard to go up to a stranger that is reading a paper and pop a few rounds in them. Getting away would be hard, but if you didn't care about life or death, then it wouldn't matter.

People are so willing to jump onto connections of 'this was x's competition, now x can rule the world!"

In our modern world, it is hard to find any high profile person that doesn't have a zillion random connections that would all make sense if they wanted someone taken out.

Seriously, the government does evil things, but there are plenty, PLENTY of fucked up people. There are plenty of sociopaths that would kill just to see if they could feel something. People are darker than we want to believe, because it could be someone we know or us that is next in the crossfire.

Some of what he says is actually fairly enlightened.

He talks about money, grammar, and mind control, but in the context of the creator.

He's talking about magic.  People used to (and do) believe that magic is simply using your abilities to influence things in any way.

From my interpretation, he's basically saying that grammar, money, and mind control etc. are all abstract creations, and the creators of it have vast influence over people.



Anyways, who has actually watched the vids and what do you think?

About the grammar thing:  Grammar consists in a set of rules, independent of any individual, to which we must all consent in order to communicate with one another.  This sort of thing doesn't bother most of us, but it's exactly the sort of "big other" which would feed into the fear and anxiety of a paranoid schizophrenic's worldview.

Westboro Baptist Church To Picket Funerals Of Arizona Shooting Victims

Westboro Baptist Church, the Topeka church known for its inflammatory anti-gay protests, plans to picket the funerals of the six people gunned down in Arizona on Saturday.

In a flier posted on its web site, the controversial church writes, "THANK GOD FOR THE SHOOTER -- 6 DEAD!" the message continues:

God appointed this rod for your sins! God sent the shooter! This hateful nation unleashed violent veterans on the servants of God at WBC--hoping to silence our kind warning to obey God and flee the wrath to come.
The flier claims that the shooting of both a House member and a federal judge -- the latter of whom was killed -- is god's punishment for judicial and Congressional action against the WBC. "God sent the shooter to shoot you! And He's sitting in Heaven laughing at you!" the announcement reads.

In graphic language, it continues:

Your federal judge is dead and your (fag-promoting, baby-killing, proud-sinner) Congresswoman fights for her life. God is avenging Himself on this rebellious house! WBC prays for your destruction--more shooters, more dead carcasses piling up, young, old, leader and commoner--all. Your doom is upon you!
In December, Westboro Baptist Church picketed the funeral of Elizabeth Edwards. The group is known to display signs that say "God Hates Fags" and "Thank God For Dead Soldiers."

Both. The shooting solidifies it, but the movies come off as esoteric rambling with little actual substance.

Is Westboro Baptist the most epic troll ever?

I feel like it's got to be a group of atheists who hate Evangelical Christianity so much that they go out and act like absolutely heinous assholes in the name of Jesus so people will hate Evangelism.

But really, I'm afraid it's actually as bad as it seems.

Also, it's scary to me that people here at the Shroomery are supporting this cold-blooded murder because it is an act of rebellion against the government.  Honestly, to those of you who have espoused this view, I think you are probably 15 years old and don't know any better...Or something?  I don't know.  Have you ever met any of your local politicians?  Most politicians are astounding normal citizens.  They can exhibit all the faults that people at all other levels of society exhibit, but they are not all exceptionally evil, fear-mongering, kickback-taking drones.  If you look at all of politics in that light you are exhibiting symptoms of severe paranoia, and you're definitely not doing your country or fellow man any good.
