The devil is a physical manifestation of everything that undermines societal attempts to control mankind. Also, he is badass as fuck and plays "Times Like These" really well

imo, devil does not exist, or, I mean it does, but only as an archetype..like santa, or hobgoblin and so on.. evil is just the opposite side of good, just like two different sides on a coin.. that being said, I am not concerned with sides.. only with coin... in metaphorical sense OFC..

The "devil" is necessary for duality to exist. Some of the devil's attributes are chaos, fear, ignorance, entropy, death, and time itself. The devil promotes change tor the cycle to repeat itself.
