edit - Also if anyone is wondering why the pipe wasn't in the lock box, it's because I went to put it inside as the cop was running my license, but the box's combination got rolled somehow and didn't unlock. I was afraid I wouldn't have time to unlock the box, stash it, and put it back in the floor without looking suspicious before he returned to my car, so I just threw the pipe under the seat as a last resort. I'd probably be golden right now had the pipe been in the box. :sad:

I'm sorry but they will get that warrant.  You need to get ANYTHING out of your house that has to do with drugs.  Once they open it and see that scale you may just have your home raided. 

Seriously dude, get anything out of there as soon as you can.  Delete any messages on your phone about drugs.

if it happened as you said and I have no reason to doubt it because I've

(illegal) the you were in fact searched illegally, you were on the hood
of his car and well away from any weapons that may have been in the
vehicle so he had no reason to fear that you would have had immediate
access to one to be used against him, but wait, there's more, even if
you were in the car he still had no cause to assume you'd pull a weapon
since your original stop was allegedly for speeding and while he couldnt
give the specific speed he clocked/pace you at the initial stop was also illegal


so, my advice, find a lawyer outside of the county because once a suit
if filed against the PD for this illegal search it'll make shit
difficult on yourself and the lawyer, you can also now claim the pipe
was planted in the car which is why he was so eager to search, I
recommend taking a couple of friends (with video), hitting the police
station and filing a complaint against the cop for violating your 4th
amendment rights, false arrest and fabricating evidence (the latter only
if you know they've fouled any prints you left)

My guess is had everything been in the lock box they would have found this baton my dad had in the car (which they took), it was in the map pocket of the vehicle on the drivers side but still not in view because papers were on top of it, then they would have claimed I had weapons in the lock box or something.

I'll be changing my ways. I will admit I was warned before in real life and on the forum, but I've always been lucky and thought I'd weasel my way out. My mistake. Live and learn. I really hope to ridicule the fuck out of those officers in court though. Even more so if they get the box open and have all this shit on me but of no use because they broke procedure.

to me it sounds like what they did was illegal. I would get a lawyer and try and fight it.

Hopefully you were also smart enough to not make any statements to the police while in custody. Something you said might be used against you, or be used as probable cause.

Having a record WILL fuck you out of a lot of opportunities and money. Fight it! It IS worth it. (oh and DON'T take their stupid fucking deal, Pre-Trial Intervention may "dismiss" your charges, but you'll still have a record. Trust me.)
