Claiming to have drugs on you at the airport * 1

What if you had all day to waste and you went through airport security and admitted to having drugs in your bags that you didn't have.  When they ask you what you have, admit to having a small chunk of hash on you.  When they take you back and search you and can't find it, just keep insisting that it's somewhere inside of your bags.  Eventually you'd have to claim that you must have forgot it at home.  What would happen to you?  If you didn't have drugs on you, they couldn't charge you for that.  And I doubt they'd send the cops back to your place for just a small chunk of hash.  Could you get in any trouble at all?

I ask this question because it would be a funny prank to pull if you had all day.  And also, this could be a good way to distract airport security while your friend five people behind you in line breezes through with the real drugs. 


EDIT:  I changed it from 8 ball of coke to small chunk of hash.

good idea to let the real drugs through, but who knows what they'd do if you insisted for hours...................

It'd probably be a better idea instead of saying anything at all, just to smear some flour all under your nose and smoke some extremely potent bud in a closet before you head off to the airport, then wear 3 metal belts and fill your bags with conspicuously shaped opaque objects... that way you aren't directly instigating anything - which could in some strange way I imagine lead to legal trouble.

you could get a ticket for falsely admitting to possessing a legal substance, or some similiar charge.


it would still be pretty funny, even though it could end up costing you more than an actual 8 ball of blow :lol:

You would get fucked by some kind of law, even if it wasn't relevant you would end up in court for something with a hard case to justify.

I don't know about hours.  Maybe one hour if you're playing a prank.  Or if you're playing the decoy for your drug carrying buddy, just long enough so that he gets through.

Those are some good ideas.  Plus wear a big pot leaf t-shirt.  I agree that it sounds like you could get in some sort of trouble, but I can't imagine what they could possibly charge you with.  Especially if you did it like you suggest and not claim anything initially, but just look like a blatant drug user.  Then when they search you, you admit to having a little coke in your bag.  I'd hope someone here is familiar enough with the law to tell me what the consequences would be.

But what if you did as twighead suggested and not claim anything, but admit to having a little coke on you once they already have you in the back searching you.  If they don't find anything, and they were the ones who initiated the search, how could they charge you with anything once they don't find the coke?

I have no idea, I don't know your countries law and I don't know the specific law that relates to airports in your country (possibly a different set of laws).

I would be very afraid to do that in Australia, let alone the USA.

If they can harass someone for 60 minutes for a bottle of breast milk I'm sure the consequences for faking drug carrying is very harsh.

From my experience with the law admitting anything is bad bad bad.. just let them connect the "dots" and don't peep, its the only surefire way to not get in trouble :tongue:

My guess is that you'd get charged with some form of obstruction of justice.... either way, the police would probably not take kindly to your shenanigans.  :shineoff:

ha this reminds me, the last time i flew on a plain i wore my shirt of a face with red eyes and a huuge smile. the second i walked through the scanner and it didn't go off, the security guy looked down at my shirt and immediately asked me to step aside for a pat down. i wasn't pissed, i kinda laughed actually cause i was already expecting it.

I'm talking about in the USA.  But again, I don't see how the person could get in trouble if they only "begrudgingly admitted" to having the coke in their suitcase.  If it isn't found, I just don't see how you could get in trouble.  I think the worst that might happen is that you miss your flight and have to pay $60 to change your tickets to the next flight.  Maybe you get put on some list at the airport.

But what if they never knew you were faking it.  What if you stayed in character the whole time and pretended to really think you had a small amount of coke in your bag.  I could see you being charged with obstruction if you claimed to have a kilo on you and didn't.  You can't mistake that.  But if you "accidentally left your 8 ball of coke at home", how could they charge you with anything?

it's illegal to falsely admit to breaking any law. i imagine it's even more severe when you lie about drug possession.

Yeah its called the SSSS list and it means every fucking time you fly again you get extra searches - that is if you're not put on the no-fly list :lol:

Okay, then let's change it to weed or hash.  If they ask you if you have anything illegal in your bags and you say that you "might have" a small chunk of hash in your jeans pocket, do you really think they'd be that harsh on you?

I could see you getting on the extra searches list, but I can't imagine being put on the no-fly list.  Especially if it was a small amount of hash you were admitting to having.

If they do that, I'll bring them a large number of bees and tell them it's heroin. Now there's a crime worth committing.
