Are you somebody who is calm & at ease under all situations and circumstances? * 1

Examples: Talking to absolutely anybody, speaking in front of a large audience, going on a date, job interview, starting a new job, at work in a stressful environment, having to 'act', stepping into the unknown...

If you are somebody who knows how to be calm and collected under all circumstances and situations, I would like to know more about you!

Were you born this way?  If not, how did you over-come any neurotic tendencies that so many of us feel entrapped by?

When it comes down to it, at this point in my life all I really want is to be an utter ease and at peace and fuckin cool no matter what.

we all have our ups and downs... I don't know anyone that is totally chill 100% of the time. Everything has its opposite. If you don't have the bad how can you appreciate the good? Then again, you and I both know how artificial the labels 'bad' and 'good' are. So you know what, I would recommend taking a nice mushroom trip for some spiritual enlightenment. That's what I'm going to be doing soon. Highly recommended.

In a normal situation for me, I'm pretty calm. I can do all the above on any given day except for giving a speech in front of a crowd. I've never been able to do an effective speech when I'm speaking to 20+ people... don't know why, just can't. I'm not nervous, I just can't keep my head straight.

I was just born this way, I guess. I have no problems talking to people I don't know and I'm not shy by any means. I've never been a great speaker, so meh.

I can usually keep my cool during any of those situations. I wasn't born this way. I used to be scared shitless when I was in front of a large crowd. But after a few years of performing on stage, I was a violinist in a local orchestra as a child, I got used to the butterflies in the stomach and the sweaty palms. My 'acting' skills were honed through my years as a prolific, and near sociopathic, liar during my early-teens.

I can get stressed out and crankey, but I'm generally easy-going.
Combination of temperament and practice.
Army basic training helped. Also martial arts. And just having a lot of experience dealing with things, you get better each time.

Working with the public will help your social skills, even something like a restaurant job.

I am all those things. born that way. maybe awesome is in genetics.

but seriously... the only difference between anxiety ridden, hand wringing, gut wrenching moments and cool, calm, collected, confidence... is being self absorbed.

not the kind of self absorbed tendencies like the fat black ladies at the DMV who have 34 people waiting for her to finish her personal call...
but self absorbed in the sense that you measure/compare yourself to everyone. you are constantly thinking about how YOU will appear to others. it is self absorbed behavior, plain and simple.

conclusion: get over yourself. you arent that great, you are going to fuck shit up, and most likely you will never be famous or great.
