Lets see the percentages of evolution and creationist believers we have here at the shroomery in comparison to the rest of america
How do you believe we came about
You may choose only one
Do you believe science or religion explains it better
You may choose only one
Do you think that religion acts as a gap filler in our limited understanding of the universe
You may choose only one
Do you think that the universe was designed
You may choose only one
Do you think creationism puts a restriction on our ability to come to a understanding to the true nature of reality?
You may choose only one

I don't take to kindly to being called a pube fag. Whatever:rolleyes: LOL:grin:

That was the only choice given in reference to the question. I do believe it is all by chance, or not. IDFK! Agnostic here by the way.

Evolution.
I actually feel that evolution is, in and of itself, a divine aid. If that makes sense. But I don't feel that there is any external divine aid actively evolving us.

Neither.
Yes it is a place holder.

No it simply came about.
Similar to my first answer, I believe there is an innate intelligence to the cosmos, but I do not believe an external intelligence played a role.

Yes it stops further discovery.

honestly i think you're foolish if you "believe" in evolution as well.

Science is not a religion. Evolution is only the best model we currently have to explain the diversity of life on earth, it is not a fact. The model is constantly changing and never "proves" anything, only gets rid of poor models. So I would say that evolution is pretty goddamn close but it is not really it because science is not truth, it's just good enough for truth

Evolution is only a theory in the sense that gravity is a theory, or that the shape of the earth is a theory.

What do you think explains life better, A rational view which is supported by every relevant piece of data ever gathered, or do you believe the theory that God magicked life into existence and as evidence you have the fact that you believe it?

        Some choice, eh?

And I said, I don't care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk ...four times already this year and I used to be over by the window and I could see the squirrels, and they were merry, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and its not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire.

That sounds just like believing in evolution to me.  Like shroommachine said, believe in evolution in the same way you believe the earth is round.  Of course they are both theories, and we believe those theories best describe our observations - that is, we believe in them.

I think its foolish to go through life not really believing in anything, how can you find peace of mind if you cant even reach a conclusion on something so unanimously opinionated on in life as where we as a species came from?

Does it really matter?  I can honestly say I don't give a shit how we got here.  It wouldn't make me sleep any different if I knew whether or not evolution was fact or not.  Not to say I don't find people's theories interesting, but at the end of the day it really doesn't affect me either way.

it shouldn't be foolish. its foolish to actually press beliefs on kids who havn't experienced shit yet i think. To be honest I think this world would be a lot better place if we could just drop our beliefs even if some of us have gone through things. It would make more sense.

There's just too much information for me to figure out. I have different priorities. I do think there's a point to life but that is a battle with itself as I see more and more bs in life. Some peoples lists of priorities don't even include finding out what creationism even means.
