Depends on what job you're considering.  Take a professional position... if you're the employer and you have the choice between equally qualified candidates and one has a massive tattoo, which do you choose?  Perception in the eyes of the public is a major factor here.

Tats aren't career enders anymore. Most people dont give a fuck if you can do the job and do it well. Lol, I used to wear a tee shirt to work that said State Prison and had a number under it. My boss fucking HATED it. He was always like damn why dont you throw that shirt away. He would get embarrassed when we'd had customers come in but he never fucked with me about in a big way because he knew I was the only person he was ever gonna find that can make a machine of any kind roll a joint, make a sandwich, whatever the fuck you need.

I believe you answered your own question. Even though there wasn't a question there, whatever.

Try anything above service level jobs.

My ex wife is a project manager for BofA. She's tatted up so are a bunch of her co-workers. Ofcourse Im talking about pretty well paid talent, not the cubicle dwelling type shit you prolly aspire towards.

Dude, being married to teh bitch I met alot of people with very good jobs and well done ink like what homeboy got done is not a problem. My shit is obviously jailhouse, it just shows, I cant help that. But, I do shop type work. Im not sure if my shit would fly in a pretentious corporate environment, but professionally done high quality tats usual dont get anything but oo's and ahh's.

I don't think anyone is going to split hairs here between quality ink and "jailhouse" ink.

And dude I was just speaking generally. Generally, what I said holds true.

And as I already said, it's not something that I agree with myself. People should have the freedom to do whatever they want with their bodies, but unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world.

I'm actually curious as to whether that's true... a cursory Google search turned up nothing but scattered rumors.  :shrug2:

I don't think blacklight ink has been around long enough to yield any substantial evidence in either direction

I actually just got out of prison a few days ago. I'm adjusting to this intra-net thing quite nicely.

fuck never mind, apparently it's just a myth. at least from this sauce:

Quote:
Really how safe is Chameleon Blacklight Tattoo Ink?
Given its extensive testing of FDA approval, with absolutely no adverse reactions to it in over ten years, it is all in the proof, this ink is most likely the safest ink on the market.

Here is the bottom line:

- It contains NO phosphors
- It is NOT radio active
- It DOES NOT contain EverGlow
- It does NOT cause cancer
- It has FDA approval as a Spectral Marking [tattoo] Pigment that was developed for use in tracking [tattooing] animals and fish - and yes the same ones we eat, and has been tested and used with NO adverse reaction in humans for over 10 years.
- the florescent dye is completely safe and has NO carcinogen and is human safe and does not spread or “blow out” because the dye is contained and it never even touches the skin because of the PMMA shell.
- the white (clear) does not discolor.
- It is being sold all over the world - and is used almost everyday.
- the inks are taken one step farther than most, as they are UV sterilized (this was being done for shipments to Europe, but we are starting to do it for all shipments.

At any rate, given no clearly substantial evidence either way, I'd go for tattoos that aren't visible under normal conditions if you still want to get hired at a major corporation.
