donating blood..

Ever donate blood? How did you feel?
I donated blooded earlier this week, it was the second time I have ever done so.
The first time was years ago when I was in high school. I got light headed then, but I was fine by the end of the day.
This time that shit fucked me up. Everything was fine until I got out of the seat and sat in their snack area.
I started getting real light headed and they told me to get back in the seat.
I started to feel better so I got out and went back to the snack area for a while, then it hit me again.
I got back in the chair for a while and then I felt good enough to drive back home.
I thought I was good to go until later that night. I got a horrible head ache.
I drank a lot of fluids and ate, but it made me want to throw up.
Eventually I did puke, which made me feel a little better.

Anyways, I type A positive.

I have done it a lot, never had a problem

plus you can be more high or drunk with smaller amounts

I've donated blood and plasma.
In fact, I just donated plasma yesterday, got $50 for doing so. :vaped:
Never had problems.
Always glad to lend a hand.

I believe I am O+ though.

For some reason I can never seem to turn them down.  Who am I to deny life saving blood to a dying person?  But I've already got low blood pressure as is, so I always get quite sick afterwards.  Usually can't even get out of the chair for a good 20 minutes.  They usually elevate my legs for a while.  Still every time the they ask, I do it.

I haven't donated blood lately, I just don't get around to it often.

All you lucky bastards in the states get paid for it, but whatever, I am happy doing it as is.

Paid for plasma, and not everyone does that anymore.  Only payment you get for blood is a cookie and some water.

yes, i donated once in highschool but got real lightheaded liek you said. so i haven't since. i always WANT to... noble cause, but i don't enjoy feeling sick.

I was literally going to type the same thing.
My mom said she thinks I'm A neg, or O pos.

But, I'm scared to death of needles.
I pass out, so... I can't donate. =[

To all those people that think you are doing a great service by giving your blood away for free..:stanhopefacepalm:

The red cross takes your shit for cookies and juice and then sells it to hospitals for thousands of dollars. They also don't payout the millions of dollars they get in donations to help those in times of disasters. If you want to donate something, you should donate sperm or plasma, and get lots of money for it.

OP, are you anemic?  I assume they tested but it sounds like you were either hypotensive or anemic to have that severe of a reaction.  I've volunteered at plenty of blood donation events as an emt and the only people who react taht way are either deathly afraid of needles, anemic, or hypotensive (why they got cleared to give blood i dont know)

I know various high ranking people of the red cross and I can tell you while they do act for $, they do often give blood for free to MCI's
