orange tinge???
    #13529433 -

my jars are pretty much done except for a week of consolidation... the mycelium is very thread like and white but looks an orange tinge... i think the substrate is showing a little transparent through the mycelium.  what do you guys think???

it might be bacteria, is it at the inocculation points or between them?
they dont really look bad to me either, but its hard to tell with the glare...

often bacteria enters with the spore solution. when it happened to me, mine were always yellow-orange right in the center of the noc points with the myc growing at the edges around it.

well thats a freaking bust... do you know what the proper name for this type of bacteria would be? i also read that when theres too much moister the mycelium will take on the yellow/orange tint

i dont know the name, but the bacteria is generally from your breath, i assume i had my face too close and breathed on it, then pushed it into it with the needle. or more likely i breathed too close to the shotglass i used to make the syringe. get some surgical masks.
i'm not 100% that thats what you've got going on though. i cant realy tell from those pics.
try and see what it smells like, and let them go another week to see what happens.
