Muslim website warns of imminent attack!

"A terrorist attack will strike the United States within the next week, according to an Islamist website.

The site, published a religious exhortation on Monday claiming that "the train of death is on its way" within 10 days, and "nothing will stop its riders," according to a translation by the Middle East Media Research Institute, or MEMRI."

Unfortunately I think there is credibility to it. :frown:

I have never hoped so much that I am wrong.  Maybe they are just trying to scare us.  Time will certainly tell.  I have marked this date and will post back in this thread to either issue a sigh of relief or say I was right to be worried.

I seriously question the credibility of that site. It seems extremely biased against the anti-war movement and against Arabs and is probably hyping this up to make them look bad.

I hope you are right silversoul7.

However it is also the site where you might hear such things if they were true. Sources of the other bias wouldn't report it all.

I couldn't be more relieved if it weren't true ten days from now. But I won't come out and say it's probably not true because of its source. In logic that is known as "poisoning the well", which is another logical fallacy. I prefer to use reason whenever I can.

It is an awful thing when you really think about it. There are alot people who would like to see this country burn to the ground. Alot!

There are large numbers of people within allied countries who would like to see this country knocked down a peg or two.

There are even large numbers of people within our own borders who seem to want something bad to happen to our country.

The sad part is that most of this sentiment is justified. Our government has brought this shit down on all of us.

I am really starting to grasp the magnitude of all of this. I am almost ready to concede that there is no hope.

I think that the dillusion is just strong enough that it has become fate for our world to be shattered once again.

I think this "terrorist" attack is the least of our worries.

All news is biased. The source is as credible as CNN or any other media outlet.

I am concerned. I am really hoping that this is just Jihad fear mongering. A technique to immobilize us.

There are two things to bear in mind as far as this or any other crisis is concerned:

1) Don't panic.
2) Be prepared.

If you follow those simple rules you will fair as well as anyone.

When i first read this i thought "well what does the US expect terrorists to do?" and that "you brought it upon yourselves", but despite what a few people in power do most americans ARE actually.....decent....! It is truly a shame when the elite ruin it for the many....assuming these terrorists aren't part of a political coverup to justify patriot acts, by spreading panic, hype and propoganda....

I was thinking about this a little earlier, Azmodeus...

Its interesting to me that these "terrorism" warnings are made public, and broadcast all over the media to people who have absolutely no power over the security of the nation. What benefit does that knowledge give the average citizen - other than scaring the bejesus out of them and having everyone rush out to buy duct tape??? They dont feel safe, and although the last terrorist attack on the US from a terrorist org was nearly two years ago people are still concerned primarily with security.

I cant help but think of the hysteria whipped up by McCarthy and the Red Scare (to build his career nonethe less..), where paranoia about communist infiltration resonated through the country from the top down. People went crazy- branding others as commies and the like, security went way up, and yet the actual infiltration was nearly nonexistant...

When i think of that, the possibility of an "Arab Scare" orchestrated by politicians seems very likely to me.

With respects to the message, I surely hope it isnt real- but it is probably just a hoax, or an empty message... since 9/11 there have been other "warnings" from supposed terrorists, and nothing has happened. I personally believe that they have us right where they want us. Think about it for a second, terrorism isnt about just killing people for the hell of it- it is a political tool. The terrorists have gotten the American populous to the point where people are shitting themselves over a "warning" of impending doom. They dont even have to kill anyone to get our attention or terrorize at this point...

I think it's propaganda.You hear all this stuff about the Patriot Act 2,so Uncle Sam throws out a few hundred warnings to scare the shit out of the cowards in this country,thereby getting more unconstitutional laws passed.All i can say is if the terrorists do come,let's bury the bastards.

That's because our goverment has been able to stop 100% of them!  :wink:  How many attempts have they broken up, dozens or hundreds? I can't remember, but I know it's thanks to the Patriot Act.  If not for this, we wouldn't have been able to do anything.

Not much. It's the new "red scare". Something to keep the defence and corporate welfare budgets ramped up while spending as little as possible on infrastructure, health care, the environment and all the other things that make a genuine difference to ordinary peoples lives.
