i love his poetry.... i know alot of people that didnt understand it or like it though.... but i have all his books and they are some of my favorite poetry

^ word i have wildernes and its my favorite poetry book jim really had a way with words i think he was genius.

those of you that think Jim was a drunken dick well people and hollywood tend to glamorise that side of him and he was sex symbol and all that bullshit.

its like if oliver stone made a movie about jerry shooting up all the time well he was a junkie but he was much more than that same thing with jim just so happens that drunks tend to be dicks sometimes and jim regreted it too as he said in wilderness "i pissed it all away" he had a kind and truely genius side of him too

most people that think he was a drunken dick all the time think that because they just saw the movie 'the doors' .... which although was a nicely shot film, only showed the bad side of jim

I love Jim Morrison and love the Doors. I think what people were saying awhile back is that perhaps Robby Kreiger was not one to criticize the Dead. In comparison, if we are talking pure musical accomplishment and skill, they weren't that great....but the mood, the writing, the raw passion and sexiness and honesty that they (JMorrison) conveyed puts them up there with the best of them.

Jim was a great poet and singer. His voice was fantastic.

Typical though of a Doors thread to become about Jim.

The Doors would have been nothing without Ray. I think their music had a lot more to do with Ray than with Jim.
