PES in sg/dubtub

4 15 qt tubs (2 per dubtub, of course)
saran wrap
micropore tape
duct tape

10 qts spawn (5 per tub) *multispore PES
18 qts bulk (coir/verm/drywall/10 grain cereal)

prepared dubtubs. classic SG spacing of the holes.
i just melt the holes with a screwdriver heated on the stove.



i decided to mix it this time, ive been layering it, but wanted to switch it up some.
sub is about 5.5 inches deep.
after mixing, i taped the tubs together w/ duct tape, then wrapped the top tubs in saran wrap. i
then used a pencil torch to carefully open some of the holes, which i covered in micropore tape.
however, i didnt open enough at first, and so i didnt see any growth pop through
the top layer for a week. so i opened up all the holes on the tops and taped them,
after that it went much faster.
that was 9/22.one is fuily colonized and was put into fruiting (removed the saran wrap)
10/4, the other will be ready for fruiting in a day or 2.
today, 10/5, the first one looks lke this:





there is that big spot in the center that is very lightly colonized, but it doesnt appear to be contam'd.
we'll see.
i removed the duct tape and the top tub to dry it out some, i blotted off the puddles and such
and left it under a cieling fan for 2 hours, and spread 1/2 pint of sterilized verm over
the surface.  i then replaced the top ant the duct tape.
today, i did it again. knots are forming in a couple places.

lost the other dub to trich. possibly because ge was restricted at the beginning?
i need to tighten up my sterile tek!

this ones looking good though.
got pins!



i didnt treat it like a 'set and forget' dub like its supposed to be, but i really want to have some ready for halloween
so i opened it up to fan and mist once a day.

harvested half the tub today, 340g wet. waiting for the rest to spread thier veils.

he didnt grow much bigger, but i'll clone it with the other 3 specimens i took.
