Im addicted to my aquarium

seriously I've spent Soooo much frickin money on this shit in the last few months then Ive spent on drugs, alcohol and ciggarettes all year.


anyone else have an aquarium addiction?

I am not yet as i dont have my own house or th moeny to finance such a hobby, but when i do i have inspirations of creating an aquarium with a blcklight in it and white/fluro fish that will glow at night. :grin:

I would love one, but Im not the most responsible person. I was at a pet store not long ago checking all their shit out. Anemones and coral and all kinds of brightly colored fish. I wish I had the time and the money...

Between 1990-93, I had "an aquarium addiction."

I bred Jack Dempseys and gouramis and a few different types of cichlids.  Had it down bad-ass; three tanks, never lost a healthy fish; no skin rot; had black suckerfish cleaning the tanks 24/7...  I'd wake up many mornings to small, pesty schools of offspring circling mommy (and, often, would have to remove the poppa immediately, 'cos some of them are funky and cannabalistic.

I also spent a load of money, and even more loads of time.  But my wife liked that the hobby kept me focused and out of trouble, and it were generally just good clean fun.

sounds awesome. I never considered the fact that the fish would breed and stuff in the tank. you can play god and start your own little eco system :awesome:

I'd like to get a cuttlefish or nautilus. They're such fascinatingly bizarre organisms. I don't have an aquarium at the moment though.

Lol I have friend just like you but he has like 3. It's insane how much money he spends on this stuff. I go to petsmart all the time with em and he usually drops quite a bit...last time he bought a stacked aquarium but it can be separated to make 2,it was like 1700, not to mention the other stuff he bought, craziness lol. So now he has 5.

i had a couple of aquariums last year. had 5 different axolotls 2 of which were special golden ones like these   and a few natural black and speckly.
also had a few guppies which i intended to breed as live food aha, they didnt like the cold unfortunately.

my poor axies both got sick before they reached breeding age though and died of fungal/bacterial infections it was horrible. i want to get some more when im better equipped financially cos i spend faar to much $ on them.

wicked pets, must be hand fed and they can get prety large

I have a decked out 55gal comunity tank with angel fish a goby dragonfish a senegal bichir, a black moor and a clown loach/ I had 2 green spotted puffers but moved them to there own 10gal cuz they were little assholes and bite the shit out of all my other fish.

and I just set up a hospital tank 10gal to treat sick fish. My loach is in there now cuz hes got a parasite

Yea man it is the tank he  bought for 1700 I guess was a steal cuz the place was goin out of business... crazy

I've got a 10G and a 27G, the 10G I was using for my aquaponics project. I wouldn't call it an addiction but I ended up spending way more money then I originally planned, it was intended as an experiment. Now I'm trying to sell the tanks. Craigslist was being a tit :nonono:
