What i meant to say is, I dont enjoy killswitch engage.

Why not? I don't like but a handful of songs. He has a great voice, plus he pours his soul into his music. Plus their drummer shreds!

It just feels very bland. Granted I dont know very much about the band, but it just seems like one of those bands who play the notes the record label executives want them to. Everything I've heard by them has just been done to death. They sound like they're following a formula. It lacks humanity and passion. Like, i hear emotion in their music, but it feels very faked. like actors in a movie trying to feel their characters emotions.

almost like they got together one day and said "hey guys, lets write some metal." "what should we write about?" "hmmmmm...idk"

but i'm not really a fan of their genre (pseudo-metal...or "alternative" maybe?) so maybe i'm not a good judge.

^^^All good points, the songs i like are angsty, so i dont care if they are "metal" enough. I like the bass heavy sound, like Bullet For My Valentine.

They are "melodic metal", if you want to classify them. I love the contrast.

Also, i don't have to "like" something to appreciate it musically. I have an A-Z taste in music.

I was just listening to this album in the car. I love this record but it makes me sad. I really dislike all of Killswitch's newer stuff. Howard whines way too much.

Just BLEH

The holy diver cover can be refreshing if you're stuck in a car where all they play is brocore metal. Even a derivative of Dio is better than no Dio and brocore metal.

Dio is a great singer, and his music is amusing albeit silly.

And yeah, bro-core is fucking terrible. Killswitch is kinda bro but a lot less bro than like Suicide Silence or the Acacia Strain or Whitechapel or the endless list of bands that sound exactly like.

Deathcore music that is really derivative of all the other deathcore/metalcore music to the point of ridiculousness. It's brocore because people who wear stupid hats with gigantic stretched lobes and basketball shorts listen to it

They're like the bros who wear abercrombie and wear sandals but it's for a really terrible metal scene instead
