gym or Galerina

im waiting for a print its alot more orange then in the picture upon examining the mushroom when i took it down from the mountain i found it to actually smell like gyms and be more orange yellow then i originally thought it was also the brusings seems to be more blue then black which i orginally thought im totally confused on this one i was orginally gona ask if it was Galerina cause i was certain it is but now i dont know based on the smell im totally considering it

What is the texture of the cap like?

Does it taste bitter?

There are both striate and hygrophanous caps. Gymnopilus is highly unlikely.

cap texture feels way too smooth to be a gym do the galerina norrmally smell like gyms its my first time finding them , tho im really glad i did cause i wanna familiarize my self with them.

i took the littlest nibble and spit it out kinda taste sweet maybe im not gona nibble on it any more.

upon further observation it totally smells like other shit on trees rather then the gym distinct smell and its also hollow stemmed

can any one give me more info its pretty crazy how similar it can look tho it really stands out to me hard as galerina where the gyms always stand out as gyms even my first find ever

oh yeah thats what i thought. they spore print is chocolate brown unlike the gyms which is orange brown/ orange.

would a microscope also show the colour difference more?
