mistaken for shiitake.

I remember last year, I ate this mushroom which I think its shiitake. it taste pretty good except bitter. right now, I know it's not shiitake, but I still don't know what it is. please give the name, thanks.

I was unaware that shiitake grew naturally in north america. At least your still alive.

Not sure what it is, but it is a cool looking mushroom.
