Lentinula boryana - native shiitake!
    #4190175 - 05/18/05 10:05 AM (11 years, 6 months ago)

I came across this on the web and thought it was interesting. Has anyone come across this in Florida? Also, does anyone else have any additional info? I can't find it in reference and wondering if it goes by another name.

Native Shiitake

A quick search gives the following synonyms:

Lentinula boryana <== current official name

Agaricus boryanus
Collybia boryana
Gymnopus boryanus
Armillaria boryana
Lentinus boryanus
Lentinus detonsus
Pocillaria detonsa
Lentinula detonsa
Panus lepreureii
Agaricus ixodes
Lentinus proximus
Pocillaria proxima
Lentinus puiggarii

Google searches with those names will give you more references than you will probably ever want to try to read.

Happy mushrooming!

A search on google for Lentinula boryana was not very productive.
