It's real, I remember some older guy doing that at a beach in MI when I was on a camping trip at like age 6.

Completely :awesome:

Naturally I was immediately interested in the formulation of the liquid that makes these huge longlasting bubbles.

The key is adding glycerin to the detergent/water mix, corn syrup or sugar may substitute.

Recipes

typical examples:

Exploratorium Bubble Formula
2/3 cup Joy dishwashing soap
1 gallon water
2 to 3 tablespoons of glycerin (available in pharmacies or chemical supply houses)

Cyndi's Bubble Recipes
1/2 cup of dishwashing liquid (Dawn or Joy)
2 cups of water
2 teaspoons of sugar

Big Bubble Magic's Basic Secret Formula
1 part ultra-Joy brand or 1-1/2 parts "cooked" Dawn brand
8 parts pure water (we used distilled)
1/4 part or less light corn syrup or glycerin

i dunno if i showed you this or not but that guy is pretty damn cool
i almost moved to stinson last month and while i was there checking out places i met bubble dude.

they are seriosuly ral and seriously pretty in prerson. he has a link to his website that has his bubble mix recipe

Note how corn syrup an plain sugar can substitute, definitely not as good but more readily available.

Glycerin is available at home brew shops, its not that expensive.

We run a program during the summer in which we put kids inside large bubbles like that using a recipe similar to what Wiccan provided.

Think: 

kids pool filled with bubble juice
kid standing in middle of pool with bubble 'wand' around the perimeter.
lift straight up.

voilla.  Kid in a bubble.


It pops as soon as they touch it though, unless you want to totally suds them up :smile:
