Any nice beaches around LA?
    #4112301 - 04/29/05 08:52 PM (11 years, 7 months ago)

Everybody says there are nice ones in Malibu, but I don't know of any specific uncrowded places.

2. "We were feeling pretty good so we decided to smoke a few bowls..."
3. "I had to be real quiet because my parents were asleep upstairs..."

malibu is a shithole.. one of the most polluted beaches in north america.. there are actually signs up saying that you can't go into the water at some points due to pollution... a lot of the ppl that live there put up signs on PUBLIC beaches, pretending that they're private just to keep ppl away which is illegal

Huntington Beach is mad nice! My old surf spot.

Go past Malibu 10 miles or so and it gets better... near the county line... if you go even farther into Ventura county is gets nice

I surf over in ventura now... don't have to deal with LA county pollution and traffic... its a 30 minute drive, but it's nice... through a bunch of orange and strawberry fields  On my way back I stock up beef jerky and the best strawberries ive EVER tasted in my life for MAD cheap

HmmMmMm... I hear south bay has some nice waves... manhattan and hermosa....

other than that it's either too dirty or too crowded

Yeah, last time I went there they had a sign that said "Stay out of the water". Hmm.

BULLSHIT. i wouldnt get in that water if i were you... i used to live there, on pch and newland, right near the power plant, about a block from Beach and pch... so the shit factory shoots the shit out, and the power plant sucks the water back up to cool thier reactors, or whatever htey use it for... for the longest while, the beach was too polluted to go into, they had signs up everywhere (except near the pier)... so one holliday weekend, the signs were magicaly gone.... and the following tuesday (monday was the holiday) the signs were back up in full force....

so i dont see how that was possible, and i also dont see how it's possible that the water is so contaminated that you cant go into it, but just a block away, the bussiest part of beach with the highest $$ flow, it was fine.

if you wanna just chill at a beach, i used to go to seal beach when i was a kid... it was pretty fun. you could try dana point if you wanna go to a nice beach, but make sure to bring a million dollars in your wallet.

stay away from newport, the cops are dicks there

I live in Thousand Oaks.... right next to Malibu... Malibu is a really nice beach, except for when it rains and all the drain run-off gets flushed in there... That's fucking bullshit.  But if you go when it hasn't rained you should go to "broad beach".  If you want directions i'd be glad to give you some, just don't let too many people know .  Oh! and don't go in LA beaches if it has rained in the past 3-4 days.  :stoned:

Meh if you go to the north end of huntington past the cliff's your fine. There are even points you can build a bonfire.

I wouldn't go to seal beach if you were a surfer. That's like surfing in a city called SHARK BAIT beach
