actually you forgot about the shift key, so thats 2 speeds in eight directions, or if you have really fat fingers 2 speeds in 4 directions

You could have pre-ordered the game for $50 on newegg or Costco.

The game is LEAPS AND BOUNDS cooler than the previous Halo's in terms of world design. Story is way more dense, and the cut scenes are cooler(although a bit choppy), and large battles can be a little laggy at times.

The more I play the game, the more I love it. The lagginess seemed to get better.

the halo universe is pretty stupid now that i'm not 14 years old..

then again, when halo 3 came out, i knew i was pushing it then.

to play it now, i would feel waaay too immature.

it just feels like a game designed for kids.

That's how I feel about Pokemon.

For me, it's similar to Half Life, and I don't think Half life is a kid's game.

halo is some cheesy alien bullshit with laser guns. robot half men created by man to kill an alien threat. oh yeah, some of the aliens are on our team now. oh yeah, what the fucking shit is going on? toss some zombies in for good measure.

when i was stuck on the farm in the czech republic with little in the way of entertainment during the winter months, i would pine for video games.  i had never wanted to play video games so badly.  it got to the point where i just started watching gameplay videos on youtube.  the two games i watched were l4d2 and halo reach beta multiplayer.

the new weapons and skill things seemed to add a pretty cool element to the halo concept.  from what i watched, it seemed to make it feel slightly more authentic and less re-hashed than halo 3.

that said, i haven't played it and probably won't in the foreseeable future.  though, it'd be cool to try.

Yeah, it's definitely different(weapons, maps, and plot). I like it. I think the multi-player could have had cooler maps, though I've only tried out one so far.
