Just to put my two cents in:

I believe that such unconsciousness is a result of environment and subsequent social conditioning, i.e., it really isn't their fault.

HOWEVER, this doesn't make it okay and once you reach a certain age, if you don't become self aware of your actions, then natural selection will take care of you. (I fucking hate the hip-hop culture, rap and the like, but I realize it is serving a purpose.)

It is very unfortunate that black people and countless other minorities have often, if not always, gotten the short end of the stick.

I wouldn't blame anything, because it is merely Nature doing its thing.

Now, the inherent racism and bigotry - some of which is displayed in this thread - only serves to prolong such unconsciousness.

In the end, it doesn't really matter.

Its just fucking SHOCKING that the numbers are THAT high.

However, it doesn't really surprise me.

I live near a town full of minorities and many are inherently ignorant and hateful, BUT I don't blame them. (I live in a town full of ignorant, hateful yuppies; the only difference is that they aren't as obnoxious with their music, cars, and dress; sorry, but its the goddamn truth. Once again, social conditioning.)

I just use these people as the mirrors they are and realize that they are tools for us to use, i.e., they exist so that others can realize such behavior is repugnant.

Its a very sad, yet necessary, situation.

So all this bitching is, well, pointless.

fire or may, depends on what they've conditioned themselves too, some
could panic, some might do nothing, some may extinguish the fire but
like with everyone else in the world, it varies by individual
