Using Lagrangian interpolation, I could find a polynomial which generates the sequence for an arbitrarily specified solution. Just sayin'...

No, you cant find an arbitrary specified solution using that - you can only find a polynomial solution of course.

What I mean is, I can fill in arbitrary numbers for the question marks, find a polynomial which takes that sequence as y-values at successive integers, and then say that the polynomial is the "explanation" for my arbitrary solution. Since I'd rather do that than try to find the numbers the problem creator wanted me to find. Actually, what I'd most rather do is nothing, so... good luck!
