I'm insanely busy these days, but if you find some, I'll take a cut in exchange for moral support.

also, I just got this album a week ago, I like it very much but it's different from their previous one. You shouldn't compare neon bible to this one, they had some killer songs on that album.

My favorite track is The Suburbs (continued) 1:28, good good good stuff.

Embarrassing, but I can't say I've ever heard The Arcade Fire. I'll have to download some when I get home from the library.

How are the acoustics at MSG? I've only ever seen a Knicks game there, no concerts.

Ummmmm MSG is generally considered one of the Rolls Royces of music venues...honestly one of the best rooms to ever see any live music in. I've seen some amazing shows there. Nine Inch Nails, TOOL, Roger Waters, The Arcade Fire, Phish, Muse, Radiohead like 4 times, and much much more..

Which album?  Heartland?  One of my favorite records of last year for sure...

Really - did not dig Heartland much - thought it was his weakest in some time. Saw him in a church though when he was touring it and the show was fantastic. Like the comparison too, Canadian Andrew Bird and throw in a dash of Kevin Barnes' lyrical bent for good measure!

I hadn't heard of The Arcade Fire 'til this thread so I just downloaded their discography and it's great so far.

I'm pissed they aren't coming to Columbus. Saw them with LCD at an outdoor venue here in fall 2007 and it was amazing.

Ugh, I wish the lineup didn't suck so much. First time in three years not going.

At least we got the National on Monday, Primus and Gogol Bordello tonight, and Spoon on the ninth.

What else is lined up for you this month?

Well last week was nuts.
Monday - Flaming Lips
Tuesday - on stage with the Flaming Lips
Wednesday - Willie Nelson w/Levon Helm----> Black Keys late night
Thursday - Furthur
Friday - Spiritualized.

Last night Arcade Fire w/ Spoon and Owen Pallett.

Tomorrow some Berliner DJ's that are supposed to be awesome.

Thursday Aug 12th - Grizzly Bear.
Tuesday and Wednesday Aug 17th and 18th - one night Phish, one night MGMT @ Radio City (not a huge fan but i'll check it out)

The next week I'm catching a night of the Scissor Sisters.

Saturday August 28th I'm going to Rock the Bells - Snoop performs Doggystyle in its entirety, Wu Tang performs 36 Chambers in its entirety, A Tribe Called Quest performs Midnight Marauders in its entirety, plus Lauryn Hill who I love.

http://rockthebells.net/

Then September is its own nuttiness...

nice.  i saw arcade fire in 08 when they played a free concert in my town for obama's campaign.  superchunk opened.  pretty sick show for free.

i'm jealous of you though.  i still haven't seen owen pallett, though honestly i haven't listened to any of his stuff since he poos clouds.  i did get to see spoon in barcelona this summer.  that was pretty rad.

obviously you enjoyed the show, but i'm wondering if that's because you simply like the music, or were they all like on fire?

I honestly went in expecting to enjoy myself but not expecting to be blown away by all. They took my expectations, stuck them in a rocket ship, and sent them to Alpha Centauri.
