reading thangs

Do you ever read thangs, but while your reading thangs, you end up thinking of other thangs at the same time?

Like simultaneously ill read words from a thang, but also as i'm reading those words, i'm also thinking of other words that are unrelated to what i'm reading.


lol, weird huh?


doesn't happen all the time, only when i read thangs i don't feel like reading, or when im super stoned.


but heres a thang


even tho im reading a thang, i can't really recall the thang that i'm reading when i'm thinkin' of other thangs, but i can easily recall the thangz i was thinkin' about.


i guess it's like a trade-off thang or somethang :shrug:

i guess prolly cuz u got to think about thangs when ur readin' thangs, and u can't think of other thangs while ur reading, or u can but u will only remember the thangs that ur thinking, so u need to think about the thangs that ur reading in order to really read those thangs



reading and thinking, are just forms of doin'

and reading is thinking in a sense, or maybe not, idk


or maybe it IS,

when ur thinking of different thangs while ur reading thangs, then the reading isn't a form of thinking/reading anymore, but a form of processing information without thinking

which is also doin' too



i guess it's similar to how ppl are in  school and day-dream, they don't remember the school thangs well, but the day-dreams are pretty vivid. not-being in class while being in class kinda thang



anyway just felt like sharin' a thang :feelsgoodman:

I'm bad at keeping my mind on one topic sometimes, I tend to polythink - be reading, have a song going through my head, and be thinking about my cat or the delicious apricot tree. :highdog:

it's sorta like, because of internet and all this fast media and everythang, that when i'm reading i'm sorta wanting it to go faster... like i'm so used to information at the speed of light that reading seems like dial up to me :shrug:

I am pretty sure that abusing a rather simplistic an unremarkable metaphor like "doin' thangs" is a sign of obsessive compulsive disorder. At the least it represents a lack of imagination and poor communication skills. It's akin to owning a high-powered microscope and only using one magnification.

sometimes when i'm readin' a thang, by the time i'm readin' the next thang i'm still thankin' about the thang i just finished readin'. then by the time i get to the next thang i would have just finished thankin' about the first thang, and even after readin' through the second thang and starting on the third thang i haven't even thought about the second thang yet; cuz i just got done thankin' about the first thang i read doin' thangs

there have been times while reading, whether it be literature or a post, as I am still reading, everything disappears and I simply understand,

and to the standard paradigm, the words I read and the thangs I thank would seem completely unrelated

but sometimes it really is that simple

Reading the newspaper often has helped me become a more concentrated reader for some reason.

when i read long novels, i absorb the information, but my mind is off on other matters.

subconcious multi-tasking.

I frequently will read 3 or 4 pages of a book while thinking about something else entirely. Then I snap back to reality and realize that I can't remember a god damn thing I read in the past 5 minutes.

It's called ADHD Type Inattentive.
