Megadeth vs Metallica.

They both are responsible for most of the metal band these days, in my opinion. I like Metallica's music/lyrics for not being so hostile. I don't really like Kirk Hammett. And Lars Ulrich rapes at drumming.

I respect Megadeth's Dave Mustaine more because he plays solos and the rythm where as James Hetfield plays mostly rythm.

I would prefer to listen to Metallica but they both are very good succesful bands.

If you listen to them, which do you prefer? And why?
Megadeth, Metallica, or both.

They are not responsible for most metal bands of today. They may be responsible for most thrash of today, but there were so many other influential metal bands going on at the time in the many myriads of different metal genres.

They're such a tiny part of the metal spectrum.

They both have their own merits. I've always had a certain amount of respect for Dave Mustaine, for whatever reason, and I still rock Rust In Piece from time to time :thumbup:

Yea, forgot the thrash metal part of it. But I agree there were alot more bands before them and during their time that were influential.

definitely metallica. megadeth has some alright riffs but i always thought they sounded kind of whiny.

Long time ago I researched the history and accounts from other people and Iv heard negative things about both bands although I like their music. Dave comes off as being a cocky douche bag.

Metallica definitely sounds better live.. they put on a good show.

I saw Megadeath last month and it was pretty meh.. :shrug:

Megadeth hit their peak in 1990... Metallica's was 1986.
The real Metallica pretty much died with Cliff Burton.
Megadeth will never be the same without Marty Friedman.
They each have their merits but I've heard all their albums 500,000 times each so I don't care either way.
But if I'm going to listen to anything it's Rust in Peace, or MOP.
