ANNO, I hope you don't think I'm throwing "gas" on the fire here.

I .............sure as water is wet, was not talking about attempting to patent the commonplace lid & filter concept posted in this thread.

I'm not so ignorant as to post anything (schematics -- prototype or pictures) regarding a prototype, that is in fact a revolutionary new concept in grain spawn containers, prior to filing a patent application, because it has far reaching commercial applications in the "edible" mushroom industry.

Several experienced patent attorneys & a well known mycologist agree the prototype I came up with is in fact -- worthy of a patent application.

As for MM's comments. I'm not counting my posted threads, but in each of mine referring to lids & filters anyone can easily build themselves cheaply, with commonplace materials, there is a new twist in each post & I'm just informing the public.

This is a free forum about mycology related subjects, after all. The purpose is to pass on information -- free -- rather than hoard or sell it.

As for MM's statement that he has "saved" me $$$. That is untrue. He in fact "cost" me a few bucks. But, that small cost was well spent finding out what type person he actualy is. I chose not to do business with him, that is all. No knock to him, or skin off anyones nose. Not even worth posting about - as in  :smirk: so what -- who cares. I don't.

No doubt some vendors will not appreciate a very low cost complete (excepting a spore syringe) & REUSABLE bulk grow kit that will hit the market -- sooner than later, either. But, that's just life in a competative market place.

Here is a pic of the initial prototype. The second generation is being perfected - now. 6T :tongue:
